CONWAY STEWART 388 Fountain Pen

Circa: 1939. Colour: Blue and black marbled.  Nib:'Medium'

This pen is one of the earliest 388 pens made as dictated by the number being on the second line of the barrel engraving - later pens had the 388 on the first line.  Conway Stewart made very striking and colourful pens during this period. The gold clip has the "CS" logo. The cap is decorated with three bands - two narrow bands on either side of a broad band. Trim is rolled gold.  The imprint on barrel reads: "Conway Stewart, No 388" and around the barrel: "Made in England".  Ink filling is by the gold lever on the barrel - the lever is also engraved with the "CS" logo.  The original nib reads:"Conway Stewart, 14ct GOLD".  Solid gold 14 carat 'medium' nib.  Condition is excellent.  Smooth writer.

Length: 5" - 6  1/4"
