PARKER VACUMATIC
'Blue Diamond' Major Fountain
Pen
Circa 1946, Colour: Green pearl laminationed. Nib: 'Medium'.
|
"A revolutionary pen - it holds 102% more ink!".
The gold clip is of the arrow design which was first
introduced in 1932 and it also incorporates the 'blue diamond' which
was Parkers guarantee of quality. Art-Deco shows its influence
in the gold cap band. The pen is filled with ink by using the
plunger beneath the blind cap at the end of the barrel. An
engraving on the barrel which reads: "Geo S Parker, PARKER VACUMATIC,
Made in Canada, PAT No.318982, 6". The aforementioned '6'
means that the pen was made in the last quarter of 1946 and the nib
is stamped with "..6." meaning that it was made in the first quarter
of 1946. The imprint on the nib is: "PARKER, 14K, CANADA,
..6." Solid gold 14 carat 'medium'. This is a two tone
nib i.e. all gold but with a Platinum mask over part of the nib.
Trim is gold filled.
Wonderfully smooth writer.
Condition: Excellent. Length: 5 1/4" - 6".
Advert: " Geo S Parker now presents the stirring climax of
his revolutionary progress..The Parker Vacumatic".
